Sailing to Tarbet, on Harris, through wild weather. The last few days were too stormy to sail.

An old truck that is now past derelict sits on the heather bog in Upper Bayble
Grandma was grew up in this cottage, and spent her childhood here, to around 18 when she left for Australia. She was born a short walk away on a nearby croft, where family still live.
The rear third is a newer extension to the orginal house.
This truck was making deliveries in Shawbost when we saw it. Inside is a complete shop, run by John.

The Gearannan blackhouse village. It was abandoned in the 1950s when its elderly residents could no longer perform the necessary maintenance, and restored in the late 1980s as a tourist attraction and hostel.
