Hue

Hue, the old imperial capital at the north-south midpoint of Vietnam, is built on the Perfume River, so named for the scent of the flowers from upstream orchards that float down the river in Autumn. Hue centre is crowded and busy, with colorful parks and an outdoor cafe vibe. The country-side is quickly peaceful just a short way out of the city.
