Walking along the river Clyde and I saw these roots. The humid air albeit cooler put me in the mind of tropical trees.

The city and the bay. Down on the city I find it easy to forget that Edinburgh is a port and am occassionaly surprised when I see the water.

This gothic edifice in the heart of the city mystifies me. There is the 'why?", but then there is the manically overdone design for a structure that houses a statue of the Sir Walter Scott.
Is it possible to have too many pinnacles on a gothic tower.? The Scott Monument answers empathically no! There is no problem at all with mounting pinnacles on pinnacles on pinnacles.
